Words alone can not encapsulate my gratitude for allowing me the financial freedom to pursue my study abroad program in Japan. One of the greatest benefits that this scholarship has provided me is the ease of mind for me to roam and experience the world and Japan in ways I could have never imagined. Ultimately, your generosity has spurred a kindled a greater perspective within me to continue life through a more socially aware mindset.
To the Gilman Scholarship Foundation
When I learned of a program that supported Pell Grant students with the financial support to study abroad, I thought it was too good to be true. I was in denial of such a catered program that not only supported us financially, but gave us the necessary resources to succeed in our Study Abroad program. I am eternally grateful for the way the Gilman Alumni Network has helped me throughout the process, and just creating a smoother and seamless process all the way through. Because of this, I've felt a greater devotion to working towards Gilman's mission of working towards diverse cultures and languages whilst sharing that with the rest of the world.
